Adm. Rabiee witnesses the signing of a cooperation contract with Maersk Training

The contract entails establishing two centers for excellence in leadership and crisis management within the Suez Canal Authority's Training Academy

Adm. Ossama Rabiee, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), witnessed today the signing ceremony of the cooperation contract between the SCA and Maersk Training at the SCA's headquarters, Al-Irshad building, at the city of Ismailia. 

Eng. Yasser El-Sheshengy, Director of the Communication and Information Systems Dept. at the SCA, Mr. Vijay Rangachari, Managing Director of Maersk Training in Dubai and Global Head of Growth and Strategic Projects, and Mr. Omar Gharbo, Managing Director of Maersk Shipping Agency in Egypt and Lebanon at A.P. Møller-Maersk. 

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. David Skov, CEO of Maersk Training, and Mr. Hany El-Nady, Chief Group Representative A.P. Møller-Maersk in the MENA region and representing Member of the Board of Directors of Maersk Line Agency Holding A/S. 

The contract entails providing advanced training programs to SCA personnel in the fields of leadership and crisis management by Maersk Training, in addition to "Train the Trainer" programs that will be conducted by the Company's certified experts. This shall contribute to the personnel's capacity building and the accumulation of sustainable long-term experiences at the SCA. 

During the meeting, Adm. Ossama Rabiee expressed his cherishment of cooperation and long-standing partnership between the SCA and Maersk Group which have yielded numerous joint successes. H.E. also affirmed the continuation of future cooperation which will include new fields of business; most prominently training, to further elevate the human capital through the establishment of two centers for excellence in leadership methods and crisis management in a scientific and methodological manner within the Suez Canal Authority's Training Academy which is planned to be opened early next year, God willing.

SCA Chairman explained that the Suez Canal seeks to complete its ambitious development strategy by enhancing its human resources by preparing a distinguished generation of creative talents in various sectors of the SCA to be capable of tackling various challenges by providing advanced training programs based on the latest scientific methods and global training approaches, adhering with the rapid developments in the maritime transport and shipping industry. This will enable the SCA to respond flexibly and effectively to various challenges.

H.E. also noted that the cooperation agreement aims to lay the foundation for offering specialized training content by the Suez Canal Training Academy to become a scientific edifice with global standards, providing distinguished training services primarily to SCA staff and, in the future, to the SCA clients, including shipping lines and freight companies.

It is worth noting that Maersk Training has over 40 years of experience in training and it adopts advanced training strategies through programs based on realistic scenarios that simulate actual work environments which utilize advanced simulators with performance evaluation and analysis to ensure sustainable improvements.
