Admiral Ossama Rabiee: “The current challenges facing the maritime transport industry necessitate the concerted efforts and uniting around shared objectives”
The conference provides an opportunity to hold separate meetings with partners and actors within the international maritime community
As part of his foreign visits to promote the Suez Canal's participation in international events related to the maritime transport industry, Admiral Ossama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, has attended, today morning, the events of the first edition of Seatrade Maritime Qatar Conference and Exhibition, organized by Ministry of Transport, Qatar, under the auspices of H. E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, Qatar, in cooperation with Informa Markets and in partnership with Mwani Qatar. The event shall be held over the course of two days (4 - 5 February) in Doha, in the presence of Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization "IMO", and Dr. Ramaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, President of the Public Transport Authority, Vice Minister, Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, and many actors within the maritime community.
This participation comes at the invitation extended by H. E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, Qatar, and Capt. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Khanji, CEO of Mwani Qatar. The conference sessions are set to include discussions on pressing issues related to the maritime transport industry, and developments related to modern technological techniques.
H. E. Admiral Ossama Rabiee underscored the Authority's keenness to engage in regional and international maritime events, as they constitute a pivotal platform for the exchange of perspectives and discussing industry-related challenges, as well as the opportunity they provide to convene with all actors within the international maritime community.
The Chairman of the Authority emphasized that the current challenges facing the maritime transport industry necessitate the concerted efforts and uniting around shared objectives that serve global trade and ensure the sustainability of global supply chains.
Admiral Rabiee expressed his aspiration to strengthen collaboration with partners and actors within the maritime community to explore constructive approaches as stability returns to the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab region.
It is worth noting that a series of bilateral meetings are scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the conference, bringing together Admiral Ossama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, with representatives of a number of international chamber of shipping and numerous actors within the international shipping community.
