Admiral Ossama Rabiee Meets with the Argentine Ambassador to Discuss Potential Cooperation in Dredging and Advanced Navigation Systems

Admiral Ossama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, received H. E. Ambassador Holger Martinsen, the Argentine Ambassador to Cairo, today, at the SCA’s headquarters at Irshad building in Ismailia Governorate. The meeting focused on exploring potential avenues for joint cooperation.
At the outset of the meeting, Admiral Ossama Rabiee welcomed the Argentine Ambassador to the Suez Canal Authority and expressed his appreciation for the bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing success in joint efforts aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in various fields, particularly in the economic field.
Admiral Rabiee emphasized the Authority's commitment to strengthening ties and joint relations with all its clients, as well as reinforcing its supportive role in sustaining global supply chains despite the current challenges in the Red Sea region.
H.E. further explained that the Authority seeks to open up to the whole world and expand its collaboration base with success partners in the fields and activities related to the provision of various logistical and maritime services.

The Chairman of the Authority pointed to the accumulated experience of the Authority's affiliated companies and shipyards in the field of maintenance and building of various maritime units using the cutting-edge technologies, in addition to the Authority's extensive experience and qualified personnel in the fields of dredging and engineering works on waterways and rivers.
On his part, Ambassador Holger Martinsen, the Argentine Ambassador to Cairo, expressed his gratitude for the growing rapprochement in Egyptian-Argentine relations at both the diplomatic and popular levels.
The Argentine Ambassador emphasized the strategic importance of the Suez Canal to the international maritime community, making it the world’s most significant waterway and indispensable for global trade.
H.E. the Argentine Ambassador expressed his hope that daily navigation rates through the Canal would return to their previous levels, noting that navigation around the Cape of Good Hope places considerable pressure on global supply chains due to delays in cargo delivery.
The Argentine ambassador also expressed his aspiration to maximize cooperation and communication with the Suez Canal Authority by exchanging expertise in several fields, including dredging and maritime industries, in which the Suez Canal has considerable experience. He also highlighted the potential for leveraging Argentina's advanced technological solutions, which specialize in early response to maritime emergencies, thus contributing to the safety of vessels and various maritime units.

The visit included a tour of the New Suez Canal, followed by a visit to the Suez Canal Museum.
