H.E. also meets with the President of the Public Transport Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss the situation of maritime navigation in the Red Sea region.
And discusses ways of future cooperation and exchange of experiences with Mwani Qatar.
Adm. Ossama Rabiee, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, has met today with Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on the sidelines of the first edition of Seatrade Maritime Qatar Conference and Exhibition that is organized by the Qatari Ministry of Transport over the course of two days (February 4 - 5) in Doha.
The meeting has witnessed discussing ways of mutual cooperation and coordination in light of the positive developments the Red Sea and Bab El-Mandab region are witnessing towards the beginning of stability being restored in the region, as well as the extent of its impact on the return of maritime naviagtion to the region gradually in the upcoming period.
At the outset of the meeting, Adm. Rabiee stressed the SCA's keenness on meeting the requirements of the maritime transport industry through adopting an ambitious vision for the serious and comprehensive development of all maritime and logistical services provided by the SCA to its clients, pointing out in that regard to the completion of the southern sector development project and the introduction of numerous new logistical and maritime services.
On his part, Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has expressed his hopes for the persistence of stability in the Red Sea region and the return of maritime naviagtion back to its normal rates as soon as possible for its positive reflections on the sustainability of global supply chains.
Mr. Dominguez has also emphasized the importance of maximizing the future role of the Suez Canal as a platform providing various world-class logistical services, lauding the rapid steps taken by the Suez Canal towards the provision of advanced services to support its clients and cement its position in the global maritime community.
On that same note, Adm. Ossama Rabiee and Dr. Ramaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, President of the Public Transport Authority and Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have held discussions on ways of fostering cooperation and the situation of maritime navigation in the Red Sea region.
H.E. has also met with Capt. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Khanji, CEO of Mwani Qatar and discussed ways of bilateral cooperation and exchanging experiences in various maritime fields.
Adm. Rabiee has expressed his appreciation of the kind invitation extended to H.E. to attend the first edition of Seatrade Maritime Qatar Conference and Exhibition, stressing the conference's significance in light of the unprecedented challenges the maritime transport industry as a whole, and the Red Sea region in particular, is witnessing.
